  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup milk (infused with butterfly pea flowers)
  • 2 tbsp dried butterfly pea flowers (or 1 tsp butterfly pea powder)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup yogurt (for extra moisture)

Instructions:

Step 1: Infuse the Milk

Heat ¾ cup milk and add dried butterfly pea flowers. Let it steep for 10 minutes until it turns blue.

Strain the milk and let it cool. (Skip this step if using butterfly pea powder.)

Step 3: Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let the cake cool before frosting.

Optional: Butterfly Pea Flower Frosting
